The MXG display features a high contrast 7” TFT display, fully configurable by a dedicated software.
You can create as many pages as wished, showing in different fonts and dimensions every information received by MXG, as well as math channels.
Swapping between pages can be managed pushing one or two pushbuttons.
An ambient light sensor keeps the backlight at optimum brightness levels.

A steering wheel represents a lot to a driver. It is the lightning rod between the racer and the road. It provides feedback and empowers the driver to make critical decisions while demanding millisecond responses.

To pay homage to the peerless relationship between driver and car, we introduce our first GT Steering Wheel, where you can monitor information in addition to what is shown by your stock dash, view configurable alarms and shift lights, and activate specific car functions.

Designed by the best track engineers and hand-made by the most qualified craftsmen, AiM GT Steering Wheel is a perfect mix of style, technology and comfort.

GT Steering Wheel is available in 320mm or 350mm diameter, and can be outfitted with paddle shifts (optional).
It is supplied with a specific flange to allow perfect installation on both SPA and OMP hubs.

The high-contrast backlit display has been purposed to provide actionable driver-information with configurable elements.

It shows – with precise and enjoyable graphics – lap times as well as data sampled by EVO4, data from the ECU and data from the built in accelerometers and GPS, while also receiving information about the on-board camera SmartyCam HD working mode.

Lap times and data are shown in successive pages in a user-defined way: simply select the data you want to monitor and create custom pages that can show up to four fields each.

Lap Time

Lap times, you can choose to visualize the rolling time, static lap time or predictive lap time (as an absolute value or as a difference vs. the best lap).

Melding form and functions, an integrated shift light array crowns the wheel behind a carbon fiber foreground.

Ten shift lights can be configured choosing the LED colour and the RPM threshold value that will switch them on/off.

Alarm management is very flexible too: you can choose which situation will activate the alarm and each LED behaviour (blinking frequency and color), as well as the conditions for its switch-off.

You can also configure GT Steering Wheel to show a warning message.

Four integrated multi-function buttons beside the Steering Wheel display promote vigilant navigation and operative execution.

Pushing each one of them, you can activate/deactivate the functions you need (e.g. traction control, pit limiter, radio).

At the end of each session you can view a data summary on the display: the four fastest laps, total running time and run distance, and max RPM and speed values.

The second page of each session summary shows the complete list of the laps with related max/min speed values.

Shift lights, alarms and custom pages configuration is intuitive and can be made with few clicks, using the dedicated Race Studio 2 software or directly via the GT Steering Wheel keyboard.

MXL is the more complete instrument to sample, show and record the most important data concerning your car.
MXL is available in two well distinguished typologies:

– MXL Strada that thanks to its aggressive look and its backlighted display is the ideal substitute of stock dashes. MXL Strada shows the most important information but is not equipped with data acquisition function.

– MXL Pista e MXL Pro05, both with integrated data acquisition, show, sample and record all data needed to keep the vehicle under control and mostly improve its performances. Thanks to their modularity, MXL Pista and MXL Pro05 can both supply beginners with basic infos and acquire the most sophisticated information to satisfy the needs of professional drivers.

Easy Connection Technology
MXL is an extremely friendly installing system. With a simple cable you can sample all values related to your engine. MXL offers a very useful CAN or RS232 connection to the most common ECUs through a configuration database.
This means you can receive a huge amount of data in the easiest and safest way: RPM, engine temperatures, throttle position, Lambda values, pressures, gear number and many other data are received, shown and recorded without any further sensor or installation problem.

Monza GP Circuit, Italy

Track Recon is a series that take us around the race tracks of the world, giving advise on how to get the opportunity to drive around the famous race tracks of the world.

This time we’re in Italy, testing the “Autodromo Nazionale Monza” or Monza GP Circuit. The race track is located near the town of Monza, north of Milan, in Italy. The circuit’s biggest event is the Formula One Italian Grand Prix, having hosted the event since the sport’s inception, and is known as the home of the Tifosi, supporters of Italian team Scuderia Ferrari.

If you want to try this track yourself, the track is open for public during scheduled weekends through the winter season (December to February). All you need is to get a proper car, turn up on the day of the public track day weekend, and buy the opening session ticket at Euro 45 per 30 minutes, also you need to fill in a declaration form.

Make sure you’re at the queue to enter the track at least 5 minutes before, it just makes life easier. On the day of my testing, it was raining, although the rain had stopped, there were still puddles at many places on the track.

The Monza GP circuit, is 5.793 km long, and consists of very long straights and tight chicanes, putting a premium on good braking stability and traction.

When your car approach the first corner at the maximum speed, you can brake at about 120-150 metres before the first chicane – the Variante del Rettifilo, entering in second gear. This is the scene of many first lap accidents during races. The kerbs are high at the first two chicanes so make sure you don’t hit them hard or it’ll unsettle the car.

It is important to accelerate out of the first chicane as straight as possible and with minimal wheelspin, as a lot of time will be lost through the Curva Grande down to the Variante della Roggia chicane. The braking point is just under the bridge. The kerbs are very vicious, and it is very easy for a car to spin. This chicane is probably the best overtaking chance on the lap, as it is the only one with the “slow corner, long straight, slow corner”, one of the characteristics of the modern circuits.

The Curva di Lesmo, are two corners that would catch the inexperienced driver out. The first is blind and has a slight banking. The second is higher speed and very important and all the kerb is used. A mistake at one of these corners will either result in a spin into the gravel, or an overtaking move into the Variante Ascari chicane.

The downhill straight down to the Variante Ascari chicane is very bumpy under the bridge. The Variante Ascari chicane is a very tricky corner, and is key to the lap time.

The final challenge is the Curva Parabolica, the car quickly dance around the corner, make sure you pick the right apex and work your way out the corner accelerating onto the main start/finish straight.

Overall, this is a fantastic track with a long history. The mix of high speed adrenaline and braking G-force will be a great way to sharpen your skills, all you need is a car that can maximize the track use. I’m Tommy Chan, see you at the track.
