VBox Engineer has been to RJN Motorsport today to help configure the CAN output from their awesome Nissan GTR GT3 car. They will be running two cars in the Blancpain Endurance Series, both fitted with Video VBOX.

Clio Cup China R10 – Zhuhai: Tommy Chan wins, Crowned Champion

Hong Kong driver Tommy Chan finished the season in style by winning the season finale in Zhuhai and being crowned as 2013 Clio Cup China Series Champion. Meanwhile, Ye Xingping claimed a win in Class B.

Drama before the race start as Huang Yi went off during his sighting lap. He would need to start from pit lane. Meanwhile, at the start, Tommy Chan held on to his lead while first time Clio Cup starter Alan Lee made a stunning start and went straight from 5th to 2nd in just one corner. Yu Kam Cheong was behind him in 3rd.

Alan Lee even started to challenge Tommy Chan for the lead in the early stage of the race, but start to fall back at midway and was being attacked by Yu Kam Cheong. Yu Kam Cheong made his move 2 laps from the end and got 2nd. Alan Lee wanted his place back but spun off during a late braking move at Turn 11. He missed the podium place with just 1 lap to go!

Tommy Chan then was unchallenged and took a comfortable win, a perfect end to his season, as he is now the 2013 Champion!

Yu Kam Cheong took a fine 2nd place, while Byron Tong battled through the field and took 3rd, after starting from the back as a result of his qualifying off. Kenneth Ma also did a great job a got 4th after a fierce battle with Ye Xingping. Ye Xingping were 5th and Class B winner.

Yang Xu had an adventurous race as he spun off in Turn 14 Lap3 and off the track again in the final lap. He the finished in 6th, ahead of Hu Cheng Wei and Benson Wong, who were 2nd and 3rd in Class B. Huang Yi, meanwhile, finished 9th after starting from pit lane.

For the Championship standing, Tommy Chan was the Champion with fellow Hong Kong drivers Byron Tong and Kenneth Ma 1st and 2nd runner-up respectively.

克里欧杯珠海R10: 陈鸿伟完美封王

香港车手陈鸿伟以完美的胜利,结束他的冠军赛季,并正式成为2013克里欧杯中国系列赛全年总冠军。而叶兴平则夺得B组冠军。

比赛开始前发生小插曲。黄毅在热身圈时冲出赛道,只能在维修区起步。正式发车时,陈鸿伟成功保护领先位置进入T1。首次参赛的李卓峰起跑不俗!只消一个弯就从第五追上第二,把余锦昌挤到第三。

李卓峰更在比赛初段尝试挑战陈鸿伟,但比赛中后段开始被甩开,并被余锦昌攻击。余锦昌结果在最后两圈,成功超越,升上第二名。李卓峰力追,但当他在T11尝试超越时,失控打滑出赛道,无奈在比赛只剩最后一圈时退赛。但他首次参赛的好表现仍然为人津津乐道。

陈鸿伟随后轻松冲过终点,成功夺得收官战的冠军,并正式成为2013年的年度总冠军。

余锦昌成绩不错,得到亚军。唐绍裘从尾位发车,结果成功追上第三。同样在后排发车的马汉华,在与叶兴平激烈缠斗后得到第四。叶兴平第五,并得到B组冠军。

中国车手杨旭今场比赛出现两次意外。他首先在T14高速失控,再在最后一圈冲出赛道。结果得到第六。胡成伟和黄炜邦分夺第七、第八,并B组的亚、季军。黄毅在维修区起步后只得一席第九。

总成绩方面,陈鸿伟一支独秀,得到全年总冠军。香港车手唐绍裘和马汉华则得到总亚军和总季军。

[Video] New Ferrari 458 Challenge Evoluzione – Fluid the Corner with Amazing Sound!

The upgraded Evoluzione version features improved aerodynamics, and other tweaks designed to increase drivability, Ferrari says. These modifications will be mandatory for all cars competing in the Challenge series.

The 4.5-liter V8 remains essentially unchanged, producing 570 horsepower; a slight bump over the stock 458 Italia’s 562 hp. However, it also has a lower ride height, 19-inch racing wheels mounted on slick tires, and Brembo CCM2 brakes taken from the extreme 599XX track car.

一年一度萬眾矚目的飄移賽事 MSC HK 2013,是所有本地飄移愛好者觀摩的好時機,終於在12月14及15日香港的亞洲國際博覽館隆重舉行!

今次飄移盛事由曾任遙控飄移評審的TRC車隊大將JAMES TANG夥拍Drift HK及日本D1搞手MSC CHALLENGE岩田和彥策劃,絕對是一場本地大製作。TRC及Drift HK近年為推廣飄移賽車風氣不斷舉辦一些相關活動。於2012年舉行的MSC HK SHOW,齊集一眾亞洲頂線車手同場較量,比拚飄移技術,令入場人士看得如痴如醉,掌聲四起。今年賽事包括本地車手排位單走﹑本地車手雙車追逐﹑特備表演 ﹑國際明星車手雙車追逐等等,令人目不暇給。
     今年賽會還特意請曾與港版拓海之稱的JAMES TANG在天門山上對決的意大利飄移王Federico Sceriffo參賽向觀眾獻技。賽會更邀請了多位東洋漂移大師來港參賽包括有被譽為飄移天才的齋藤太吾,蘋果小姐石川紗織和2012年日本漂移大賽冠軍 藤野秀之等等。賽會評審則由MSC之父岩田和彥及人氣D1車手菊口信輝擔任評判。

當日除了有精彩賽事當然少不了一眾迷人的RACING GIRL,多個遊戲及美食攤位。而賽會贊助商之一的偉搞模型亦設有攤位展示各款由本地遙控飄移車手改裝的落場版YOKOMO遙控飄移車。在場朋友不但可以 欣賞飄移賽事更可以即場買走自己心儀的飄移賽車1:10模型帶返家中。現場亦不泛飄移粉絲購買YOKOMO的T-SHIRT紛紛向偶像車手塑取簽名。

雖然今屆比賽多了點風,多了點雨水,但是對MSC HK狂迷的熱情沒有半點減退,大家都摒住呼吸,拼命地為各自喜歡的車手打氣。而各高手亦不斷挑戰自己的極限,努力在自己完美的漂移技術上尋求突破。

最後恭喜藤野秀之先生成為了今屆MSC HK 2013的飄移王。飄移比賽最刺激的就是那十多秒的精華,最痛恨的亦是那精彩的快逝。期待MSC HK 在2014再度來臨!

Ever since 1993, Ferrari’s V8 mid-engined berlinetta models have provided the ideal basis for a single-make racing series that has demonstrated itself the ideal springboard for many Ferrari drivers to further motor sports experience.

With the launch of the 360 Modena Challenge in 2000, the level of competitiveness of the Ferrari Challenge series took a huge step forward. Along with the F50, the 360 Modena was instrumental in pushing the boundaries of road-car production ever closer to the company’s racing roots, with uncompromising engineering and, in particular, levels of aerodynamic development previously unheard of on a series production car.

Early development work on the Challenge version of the car was extremely promising, with the 360 proving lighter, faster and sharper-handling than the outgoing F355.

Since the introduction of the 360 Modena, Ferrari has received numerous requests for factory-prepared cars for other international championships. With the help of factory backing, the JMB Competition team 360 fought off the Porsche competition to take the 2001 FIA N-GT World Championship team and drivers’ titles.

On the strength of this showing, Ferrari has decided to produce a specific model – the 360 GT – derived from the Challenge car for privateers in the FIA N-GT and A.C.O. (Automobile Club de l’Ouest) championships in 2002. Production will be strictly limited to around 30 cars over the next three years and the ex-factory price (ie. excluding tax and delivery) is 382,000 Euros for the FIA version, and 402,000 Euros for the ACO version. The two versions differ exclusively for the aerodynamic packages and, in the case of the FIA car, the adoption of the F1-style shift.

Denise Yeung, the hottest growing racing driver from Hong Kong joined our Grid Drifting Academy.

With her well developed touring car experience, she worked through the basic technique exercise with ease, and proceeded to more complex drift driving involving a combination of drift technique to complete a simulated drift track.

楊嘉怡,來自香港的賽車新星參加入了Grid飄移學院。

她的房車賽經驗,讓她輕鬆的通過基本技術練習,並且進行了一個更複雜的模擬漂移賽道練習。

Ferrari 458 Challenge 2014 Calendar – Are you ready?

The new season for Ferrari 458 Challenge 2014 kicks off next week in Daytona, USA. The new season welcomes the new 458 Challenge Evoluzione upgrade, with obvious aerodynamic enhancements.

The key difference is the rear wing, which has been developed using experience gained in GT racing. The increased down-force generated by the wing, balanced at the front by work carried out to the splitter and the under-tray, is said to allow drivers to extend the limits of the car, meaning higher cornering and top speeds.

Ferrari says drivers of the 458 Challenge Evoluzione can expect improved performance, both in terms of laps times and over long distances, compared to the outgoing car. Expect a Fiorano lap time less than the 1:16.5 set by the 458 Challenge back in 2010.

On the sporting side, the most significant changes concern the format of the weekend (a qualifying session and its relative race on Saturday, a further qualifying and the second race on Sunday, an increase of more than four hours total driving time,) the introduction of a handicap system (the first three in each race will each get a grid penalty for the next race – 6 places for the winner, 4 for second and two for third – , only one driver allowed per car and a split in the Trofeo Pirelli classification between a Pro and an Am category.

The points system covers the top 10 in each category (20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1) as well as a point for each event entered, each pole position and each fastest race lap.

The Asia Pacific series gets underway in Sepang 21-23 February with the Ferrari Racing Day, which is then repeated in Sydney on -13 April for the start of the Oceania part of the season. Shanghai (6-8 June) will host a scaled down version of Racing Days which will be repeated with an identical format from 19 to 21 September in Fuji: in between there will be a round in Inje (4-6 July) and at another Japanese venue (22-24 August.)

The Finali Mondiali, which will also feature the final rounds of all three championships, will for the first time take place outside Europe, at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina circuit from 3 to 6 December.
