After the success of the inaugral 2012 Audi R8 LMS Cup, both the factory and privateer driver loved the Video VBox system installed to their R8 LMS Cup car. Not only the custom designed graphics are great to see all the parameters fed by the CAN Data Bus of the car; RPM, gear, throttle, brake, speed and G-forces. With the track map and lap timing features it’s very convinent to refer to even just with the videos.

On top of that it makes a superb analyse tool to compare with fellow drivers the different way they drive and where they can improve with the Circuit Tool software included. http://gridmotorsportco.com/racelogic.html

Sportiness, ground breaking technology and emotional design are the main components for the Audi brand’s success. The genes for this originate from over 30 years of successful motorsport history. Now China becomes part of the successful Audi motorsport heritage. With more than 300.000 deliveries in 2011, the country became the biggest market for Audi worldwide. With the new series, the brand now provides ‘Vorsprung durch Technik‘ (‘Truth in Engineering’) on the race tracks of this dynamic country.

The series travels to Shanghai, Zhuhai, Ordos in Inner Mongolia, before returning to Zhuhai and then Shanghai.

The cars are full GT3-specificiation. Internationally, the Audi R8 LMS (which stands for Le Mans Series) has already scored more than 100 victories. Only minimal adjustments will be permitted under the series regulations, allowing pure racing talent to shine. With its Audi Space Frame (ASF) body, the Audi R8 LMS represents Audi ultra, the pioneering lightweight concepts of the German premium car manufacturer.

The stellar line-up includes proven professionals like former Formula 1 driver Alex Yoong of Malaysia, as well as upcoming talents and gentleman drivers. The Cup receives an extra bolt of star power in the form of highly-acclaimed Hong Kong artist and accomplished driver Aaron Kwok.

Three titles will be up for grabs in 2012: The Audi R8 LMS Cup overall title, a category for amateur drivers, and one for teams, with each round points-scoring.
